The Northern Lighthouse Board is certificated to BSEN ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard (Ref. 02013-2001 AQ-LDN-UKAS), The International Safety Management Code, (ISM Code) in respect of our ships and marine management systems, OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System and BS ISO/IEC 27001:2005 Information Security Management System.

The Northern Lighthouse Board is a member of the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA). The method of measurement and recommended standards are set for each type of Aid to Navigation by IALA - the Northern Lighthouse Board operates to these standards.
