TEMPORARY DISCONTINUATION OF “S” BAND
RADAR BEACON (RACON) SERVICE

 

With reference to NOTICE TO MARINERS NO 5 OF 2006 (DATED 14 FEBRUARY 2006), Mariners are advised that, with immediate effect, the dual “X/S” Band racon at this station will revert to “X” Band only.

Racon Transmission Characteristics:
Frequency: X Band = 9300 MHz – 9500 MHz
Duty Cycle: Active on X band for 20 seconds in every minute
Nominal Range: X Band - 13 Miles
