The Northern Lighthouse Board working in partnership with the Ardnamurchan Trust have opened Ardnamurchan Lighthouse to the public for tours during the summer season. The tower built by Alan Stevenson in 1849 stands on the most westerly point of the British mainland. There is also an excellent Visitors Centre and Tea room. The panoramic views of the Hebrides are unsurpassed and the surrounding area abounds in wildlife.. Please note this tour is not suitable for anyone suffering from heart, breathing or balance difficulties and that children under 1m in height will not be allowed access, this includes carried children. On days when essential maintenance is taking place the lighthouse will be closed to visitors. Ardnamurchan Leaflet
